WEEK IN REVIEW

  1. WMOM announced that they (with Betten Baker Ford) will qualify 1027 people now through July 2nd to enter to win a brand new Ford Escape! Listen to find out where WMOM will be on location to win an entry. On July 3rd the qualified winners will get a chance to enter a 5-digit code in the vault that contains the keys to the vehicle.
  2. LACA introduced the Little Free Art Gallery, which is designed for community members to create and share small artwork. Anyone is welcome to leave a piece or take a piece or just have a look around and enjoy what’s inside. Our Little Free Art Gallery is staffed by Howard and Isobel, make sure you stop by and say HI! We encourage everyone to share a photo of the artwork they take or leave online at LACA’s Little Free Art Gallery. We would love to see how your new piece of art is displayed at your home.
    LACA has also brought back the clay workshops with Mary Case.
  3. Mason County Historical Society tells us that construction is underway at the new research center and gift shop at 130 E Ludington Ave.
  4. The Library gave us a “Must Read Graphic Novels For Teens” list this week.
  5. AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment of the World) has set up an Earth Day Quiz Walk in Cartier Park. They also have many virtual events and presentations happening this month to celebrate Earth Day.
  6. AGS Gift Shop has a $2 body jewelry bin until April 30th.
  7. Mariellen’s Hallmark showcased some delicious Michigan Made snacks and kitchen towels.
  8. Purple Monkey Children’s Boutique has a ton of new spring kids apparel in the store!
  9. Everest Athleisure announced another new brand: Free Fly.
  10. Snyder’s Shoes has new kids Keen styles in stock.
  11. My Sister’s Closet has 25% off footwear this week.
  12. Sweet Peach Children’s Boutique has party decor so you can have a Pinterest-inspired in minutes! *Disclaimer, please party safely! 🙂
  13. Backstage Hobbies & Games now stocks candy, from marshmallow flavored Unicorns and Cherry Potions, to Sour Ghosts!

  15. Evergreen Natural Foods Market has some new beverages on the shelves.

  17. Avenue’s End Mini Mall announced that they will be opening May 21st and they have booth space available.
  18. Ludington Hobbies is moving to a new, larger location at 210 S James in the Stram building. The store at 323 S James is now closed (and available to lease). Watch their Facebook page for opening announcements.
  19. Sunset Bay Antiques announced they will be open Saturdays starting May 15th.

  25. Book Mark showed us a new seasonal beverage: the Honey & Lavendar Latte, which can be served hot or iced.
  26. Northstar Fitness will be hosting Open Gym for LHS students from April 13th-19th. Monday thru Thursday from 1:30-4pm and Friday from 9:30am-noon. It’s open to all high school students, free of charge, looking to maintain their fitness and mental health. Students must sign in upon arrival and respect COVID protocols. They can follow their own programming or do one of the provided daily workouts. A coach will be supervising if any assistance is needed.
