CULTURE

  1. LACA’s June exhibits are open. You will find The Infinity Between Zero & One by Ellen Nelson in the main gallery. There will be a public artist reception from 5-8pm on Friday, June 4th. You can meet the artist and purchase prints of her work.

  2. Sandcastles Children’s Museum opened for the season after a year Covid Hiatus!
  3. The Library announced that e-magazines are back in the Libby app.

RETAIL PRODUCTS

  1. Mariellen’s Hallmark has micro-fiber beach towels! They are lightweight, quick dry, sand free towel in it’s own carry bag.
  2. Purple Monkey announced that they will soon be carrying Quincy Mae, which is an organic brand that is ethically made and brought to you by Rylee and Cru. This is brand perfect for a unisex baby gift and moms that enjoy more neutral and natural tones. Make sure you follow them for more info on when it will be in-store and online!
  3. Glik’s blog this week features tips for overpackers. Find out how to pack your bags for vacation with the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Method. They also showcased these sweatshirts from North Face Pride collection to celebrate National Pride Month.
  4. My Sister’s Closet reminded us that they offer tuxedo rentals.
  5. Sweet Peach set up some fun activities during the Final Friday Experience event on Friday. You can find those bubble makers in the shop.
  6. Spindrift Cyclesports is now selling Dahon folding bikes. They are fun to ride and easy to transport.
  7. Evergreen Natural Foods Market announced their summer hour changes. They are now open Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri/Sat, from 11am-6pm. (closed Thurs/Sun) They also showcased this lightweight, fish patterned throw they have in two sizes and the beautiful hand made recycled cards they have in stock. Perfect for grads!
  8. Cedar Chest also announced their summer hours, 11am-6pm Monday thru Saturday and 12-4pm on Sunday.
  9. Todd & Brad Reed found a few Wednesdays and Tuesdays books when cleaning out the stock room! These books have been sold out for a long time now and have greatly increased in value on the used market. They have new covers on them and will sell them for $120 each. First come first serve. Sold as is. Call 231-843-0777 or stop into the gallery. All of them are signed by Todd & Brad.
  10. Hegg’s showed us a sectional, luv seat, and an outdoor set that are on the floor and ready for you to take home.
  11. Natuical Yarn’s new patio is all set up and is open for Thursday afternoon Knit & Crochet from 1-3pm, beginning today and will continue every Thursday as weather allows. They also have some fun classes coming up, including Rug Hooking.
  12. Book Mark has some great Ludington themed items in stock as well as a large collection of knitting books.
  13. Magyars is back (now on South James) and showed us this industrial Koken rolling stool that they have available. Check out more here.
  14. Opus opened up shop at 109 E Filer St and celebrated with a Chamber ribbon cutting.
  15. Avenue’s End showed us some Ludington-made products that they have in stock, including syrup, jam and juices.
  16. Victoria’s Jewelry showed us June options for birthstones: The pearl, alexandrite (color changing gemstone) and Moonstone.
  17. Booked For The Season is open on Filer. 
  18. Ludington Hobbies is hosting a drag race on Saturday to benefit the Poll family, who recently lost their 2 year old daughter in a tragic accident. Get the details about the fundraiser here. 
  19. Backstage Hobbies & Games has new Wizkid minis in stock. 
  20. Red Door opened for the season. Stop in to see this year’s collection at the gallery.
  21. Trailhead got a new coat of paint!

DROOLWORTHY

  1. Crown and Cork opened this past weekend and Keeper’s Fish Shack is scheduled to open mid-June. You can learn more about them in this Chamber blog. 
  2. Sportsmans has taken down the greenhouses and popped up the picnic tables in their backyard.
  3. Jamesport has added a new star to the dessert menu. Check out this chocolate hazelnut cheesecake, which is made in house.  Apricot Wheat is back on tap. They also announced the addition of tables out front where you can enjoy a LOSD beverage while you wait for a table. 
  4. Ludington Bay hosted Serita’s Black Rose during the LOSD Kick-off Final Friday Experience event.
  5. Table 14 showed off their Tuna Napoleon, crab stuffed avocados, this Caprese Chicken, and the indoor s’more.
  6. Blu Moon has opened the upper deck and the lobster nachos are flowing!
  7. Sandbar got a facelift thanks to a new coat of paint!
  8. Timber’s showed off a New York Strip appetizer special.
  9. Chef John’s has some pretty delicious looking cookies!\
  10. Red Rooster has the lavender lemonade back on the menu board.
  11. Krave Froyo showed us some bubble tea!
  12. Q Smokehouse has family meal packs perfect for picnics and BBQs.
  13. Tiki Lounge has reopened at 50% capacity and the biggest question they are getting is regarding masks. Those fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

SERVICES

  1. Northstar Fitness is celebrating a decade in Downtown Ludington this month. They’ve also added aerial yoga to the class line up.
  2. The Refinery announced their summer specials.
  3. Tailor Shop announced their new dry cleaning drop off box.
  4. M. Wellness has added new early bird classes. 5:30am Mon/Wed/Fri for spin and 5:15am every Tues/Thurs for HIIT Bootcamp.
  5. Adora Studio of Hair gave us their summer color maintenance schedule recommendation.
  6. Foxy’s Fabulash congratulated MariCruz on her college graduation. She will be taking on her new role as a dental hygienist so Foxy’s is looking for lash artists!
  7. WMOM’s Chris Nicholas received the Red Hot Best award for the Best Radio Personality in the Ludington/Manistee/Cadillac region.
