ART & CULTURE

  1. LACA announced a Cast Hydrostone Panel workshop with Laura Gajewski. It’s a two-part Cast Hydrostone Panel Workshop at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) on Tuesday’s June 15 and June 22. Hyrdrostone is an exceptionally strong gypsum cement that is traditionally used to produce high-quality, indoor novelty and statuary castings that require extremely hard, are water resistant and superior reproduction of fine detail.
    Laura’s Abandonings exhibit is in the gallery this month, as well as Larry Pazol’s A Splash Of Color exhibit.
  2. The Library’s Family Fun Craft Bags this week will feature dinosaur activities.
  3. Tiki Lounge will be opening Fourth of July Weekend

  1. The Refinery told us about their MD Solar Science SPF product. Many have said it “is the best sunscreen ever”. Mineral based, rubs in easily, last all day (unless swimming), no white residue, no odor. Stop in today to get yours.

  1. Mariellen’s Hallmark featured the Guac Bowl. There are many more in this series, perfect for entertaining!
  2. Purple Monkey announced their new online store!
  3. Snyder’s Shoes showed off their Earth sandal display.
  4. Glik’s shared their Summer Playlist with us. They also showcased these Teleties that they have at the store.
  5. Grateful Heart & Home has returned to summer hours. They will be open Monday – Saturday from 11am-6pm and closed on Sundays. They also gave us a peak at the store.
  6. My Sister’s Closet has a great selection of name brand sunglasses up for grabs.
  7. Sweet Peach got a new shipment of Pete & Lucy and they hosted a live show to tell everyone about it.
  8. Backstage Hobbies & Games has a large selection of Dungeon & Dragon 5th Edition books and accessories.
  9. Evergreen Natural Foods Market has new goats milk soap on the shelves and it’s made in Ludington by Sister Bees! They stock Michigan Honey, Cleansing Charcoal, Lavender & Patchouli soaps, as well as Luxurious shower gel made with honey, lemongrass geranium and lavender. And beeswax candles! They also showed us new Green Toys in stock.
  10. Todd & Brad Reed posted a video update from the gallery regarding the release of their new book. They also have the new 2022 calendars in stock.
  11. Sloaney’s has completed their move to 128 W Ludington Ave.
  12. All Occasions Events & Floral shared images by Forever Young Images from their latest Ludington wedding. The flowers look amazing and they got the sweetest note from the couple. If you’re in need of a planner and flowers for your next event, give Cheryl and Wendy a call!
  13. Hegg’s Furniture rearranged and staged last week and they have this new bedroom set on the floor. 
  14. Giving Tree Garden Center showed off more of what’s in stock right now.
  15. Avenue’s End Mini Mall opened for the season this week.
  16. Ludington Paint & Glass showed off a couple projects and wished a happy 4th work anniversary to Jason.
  17. HumaniTea shared some new items in the shop.
  18. Book Mark showcased their cat and green living/sustainability sections.

DROOLWORTHY – Restaurants

  1. Chef John’s Oreo pie and cuban (back by popular demand). And they have added more outdoor seating!
  2. Sportsman’s prime rib sandwich.
  3. Jamesport Brewing Co.’s features last week included a quesadilla burger, pork tacos, shrimp scampi, veal schnitzel sandwich, and a roast beef sandwich.
  4. Ludington Bay Brewing Co. announced 12 packs awhile back and you can now get a “Summer Provisions” pack with Summer Fling, SS Badger Blue, Tangelo Dream and a mystery beer. They are planning a few weekend features.
    – Tender house smoked ribs covered in your choice of brown sugar bbq or Carolina bbq sauce. Served with coleslaw and mac & cheese. Full ($24) or half rack ($16).
    – Smoked Bratwurst with BBQ onions, fries and coleslaw for $12.
  5. House of Flavorsfree ice cream with a dine-in meal” ends today!
  6. Table 14 features included seared walleye with tomatoe jam and basil pesto, deconstructed chocolate banana cream pie, basil tattooed whitefish with strawberry lime balsamic glaze, candied pork belly, and this Sunday is their last brunch!
  7. Krave Frozen Yogurt is now open and self serve is back!
  8. Q Smokehouse teased us with a construction pic out back. Can’t wait to see what’s happening! They also told us about their vegetarian Jackfruit Al Pastor, just like the pork but made with jackfruit. You can get it in a sandwich, tacos or burrito.
  9. Kilwins ice cream cakes make great treats for graduates!
  10. Keeper’s Fish Shack showed us a sneak peak of their perch “tackle box” dinner. *missing: 2 hush puppies*

  • Northstar Fitness // Murph Workout // Heats at 10am, 10:30am, 11am
    Murph is a workout done in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy Seal who died while serving in Afghanistan. Gyms all across the country complete this workout each Memorial Day to honor him and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We are proud to continue this tradition and would love to have you join us!
    The workout is: 1 mile – 100 pull-ups – 200 push-ups – 300 air squats – 1 mile
    Please sign up in advance through MINDBODY or by contacting NorthStar. We have a limited amount of spaces per heat. Feel free to BYOB and hang out after you’ve finished.

    A large gathering at Stearns Park is being avoided to comply with State of Michigan COVID restrictions.
  • Raising of the Flag // noon // Stearns Park Veterans Mall
    Immediately following the service at the American Legion, an Honor group will ceremoniously raise the flag at Stearns Park Veterans Mall at NOON. Offering a prelude of TAPS and a prayer. They will then do the same at the Fallen Heroes Memorial at the Mason County Courthouse.
