  1. LACA  announced Tina Henning’s Sunset Dog photo as the People’s Choice winner in the ARF Prize Exhibit.
  2. Mason County Historical Society shared this video which tells the story of the Wreck of the steamer Alpena.
  3. Ludington Area Senior Center announced that the Angel Tree is up and ready for you to choose a tag for our seniors who have no one to share the holiday season with. Stop by the center to grab a tag to help make someone’s holiday merry and bright.
  4. Sandcastles Children’s Museum is offering free daily family admission for the month of November to local medical workers and their families to express their gratitude for the sacrifices they have made throughout the pandemic. Show your medical employee ID at the door to take advantage of this offer.
  5. The Library  told us about the Big Library Read, which began November 1st and runs through November 15th. You can visit Libby to borrow the featured title ‘Five Total Strangers’ by New York Times Bestselling Author, Natalie D. Richards, with no waitlists or holds. or use the Libby app.

    They also shared a list of books that were made into movies.
  6. WMOM interviewed Mark Barker and Bill Thornton from Interlake Steamship Company and Lake Michigan Carferry to talk about  the Badger heading to Sturgeon Bay, WI for it’s 5  year inspection. It will also be repainted, in the same color scheme. There will also be a new ship docked next to the Spartan soon. Watch to learn more.

  3. Backstage Hobbies & Games has the Pokemon Fusion Strike Kits which will release this Saturday. You can pre-pay by Saturday and you’ll get 3 Fusion Strike Booster Packs.
  4. Booked for the Season has The Stories of Ray Bradbury on their eBay shop.
  5. Gliks shared an outfit featuring black jeans, a sweater, and a denim jacket.

  7. Hegg’s Furniture has new items on the floor in Ludington, including couches, desks, dining tables and decor.
  8. Ludington Hobbies has package specials in the shop right now featuring RC vehicles, charger/battery combos, batteries and more.
  9. Ludington Yacht Sales keeps selling, even when the weather isn’t the best for boat. You can be ready for next year with a Catalina, Donzi, Regal, Bravo and or one of the other dozens of vessels they have listed. See them all here.

  14. Purple Monkey Children’s Boutique  has Lazy One pajamas and they are perfect for cozy holiday evenings and mornings. They also showed us some fall items perfect for Thanksgiving, like this adorable turkey outfit.
  15. Sloaney’s was closed November 1st to get Big Foot and the rest of the store in the holiday spirit. They will be open daily from 11am-5pm through November for holiday shopping.

  3. Northstar Chiro informed us about how massage and chiropractic care coupled together to heal the body. Both services are available at the office at Rath & Foster.

    The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) Regional High School Art Competition was created to showcase the talent of high school students currently attending high school or home schooled in Mason, Oceana, Manistee and Lake counties. The exhibit will take place in LACA’s main gallery Nov. 5-19, 2021 with an artist reception slated for Friday evening, Nov. 5, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. Area high school artists may submit up to three pieces of 2D or 3D artwork for consideration in this juried exhibit. Prizes will be awarded to the top three pieces in the exhibit.
