CULTURE & MEDIA

  1. LACA announced an installation by Scottish-born, Chicago-based artist Claire Ashley Oct. 22 through Dec. 10 in the art center’s performance hall. The installation is part of the West Shore Community College Humankind Series and is entitled Cosmic Gasp, which will also include installations at various location on the WSCC campus. n exhibit reception, featuring drinks and food from chef Barry Sherlock, will take place Friday, Oct. 22, from 5-8 p.m. at LACA. During the reception there will also be a performance related to the artwork presented at LACA. The exhibit, reception, and presentation are free and open to the public.
  2. Sandcastles Children’s Museum hosted Eric Engblade for Music & Movement last week. And they showed off the Vet Center.
  3. The Library  shared a list inspired by the Shifting Landscapes lecture series topic “Community”, which took place October 11th.
  4. WMOM covered the final day of sailing for the SS Badger, as she entered home port for the last time this season.
